Get daily usage from last week’s counts: starting count + deliveries − ending count, divided by 7. Par = daily usage × (days between deliveries + lead time + safety stock)
What is a par level?
The amount of an item you want on hand right after an order is placed, so you don’t run out before the next truck.
How the order is found
Order = par − on hand, rounded up to full cases. Anything that won’t last until the truck arrives is flagged so you can call your rep.
Review pars monthly
Usage changes with the season, promos and menu changes. Recheck your pars every month so you don’t over-order and waste product.
